Some of Gable Building Corporation's customers keep coming back. In a 2019 Houzz review, a couple wrote that Gable built their waterfront vacation home in Chatham back in 2002 and has handled several remodelings for them since. The Chatham company builds custom Cape Cod homes and takes on renovations, historic restorations and millwork; it says it has been building on Cape Cod for over 40 years, and its BBB page gives 1981 as the founding year, with nine employees and James E. Gable as president. Its written reviews are all on Houzz, dated 2016 to 2022, where the profile shows a 4.9 average from 14 ratings. In an April 2022 review, a homeowner who described the job as their third whole-house renovation named Mike Squier and Brandy Haislet as the team that keeps Gable running, and said the budget was managed carefully and the project was completed in a very timely manner. Another April 2022 review singled out communication: plenty of lead time on items the homeowner had to supply, like tile choices, hardware, paint colors and light fixtures, plus on-site meetings with follow-up notes. The older accounts are mostly about houses. A 2016 reviewer said Jim Gable built their custom house on a hill, and that the landscaping team put in the retaining wall and landscaped the yard. In another 2016 review, a customer described a major remodel and addition to a Windmill cottage in Hyannis Port and said the company was forthcoming with estimates and looked for cost-effective approaches. A 2019 reviewer said the Gable team was still answering house-related questions a couple of years after their house was finished. A 2017 Cape Cod Life article reports that the company's restoration of the Old Village House in Chatham won gold in the 2016 BRICC Awards historic renovation category. Cost is the one complaint on the page: the 2019 vacation-home couple gave four stars rather than five because Gable is "not inexpensive." The state registry shows its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration as active. Separately, its BBB grade is A+, and the company states a one-year warranty on all construction.

Mike Squier and Brandy Haislet are the team that keep Gable running. They are the most professional and competent construction experts we've ever dealt with. (This was our third whole house renovation.) They managed the budget with great conscientiousness and completed the project in a very timely manner. They were also a joy to deal with - highly knowledgeable and all-around great people. We could not be more pleased, and highly recommend Gable!

Back in 2002 we used Gable to build us a beautiful waterfront vacation home in Chatham. Since then we've continued to use them for several remodelings. These guys (and gals) are very good and I'm sure we will be using them again. (They are not inexpensive, however, which is the only reason we did not give them five stars.) -Preston and Candice
Gable Builders created our house for us and it was a true pleasure to work with them on it. We planned our dream house and now we love living in it full-time. Gable worked closely with us to plan every detail. They were extremely attentive to our wishes and advised us in a very helpful way to achieve our vision. It was exciting to work with them, They did whatever it took to satisfy our requests. Their workers are amazing professionals, friendly and responsive. The house is truly top-end in every way. Perhaps best of all, the Gable team remains responsive to our house-related questions and concerns a couple years after the project was completed.
I have worked with Gable Building Corp on two projects. One was a major remodel and addition to a Windmill cottage in Hyannis Port and the other was a garage remodel and various maintenance items. I find the company easy to work with and very forthcoming with estimates and other information pertaining to the projects. I also appreciated that they would find a cost effective approach to the situation. I would use this company again.
