A September 2023 homeowner called three other builders about their house. Perullo was the only one that responded — and then the crew showed up every day and had the place shingled in a week. Perullo Construction is Joe Perullo's outfit, run out of South Chatham and doing frame-to-finish work across the Cape: additions, kitchens and baths, roofing, siding, windows, decks. The company says it has been at this 24 years. Both licences sit on the state registry — a construction supervisor licence under Joseph L. Perullo and a home improvement contractor registration under Perullo Construction LLC. That first phone call keeps turning up. A January 2024 homeowner pricing 13 replacement windows said Joe got back to them in a timely manner where others hadn't; an August 2023 customer siding a house in Harwich had the call answered the same day and a quote the next; a July 2023 customer had Joe at the house sizing up the job within a day. The jobs swing from small to substantial and back. In a July 2023 review, a homeowner described Joe re-shingling, chasing down sneaky leaks, and finally completing an extensive interior renovation that had been started years earlier. A May 2025 customer had two railings put in to code and a wall built to make the basement stairs safer. A November 2025 client had a basement finished with a full bathroom and a kitchenette. In April 2025, someone had sidewall shingles and trim boards replaced on a shed and wrote that the result looked better than when it was new. Joe works alongside the crew rather than dropping by. An August 2023 reviewer had them arriving at 7:30 each morning with the work areas cleaned daily; an August 2026 screen porch customer said they arrived promptly each morning and spent the entire day working; a July 2025 kitchen client had Joe checking in daily. When the Chatham Anglers needed a small upgrade at Veterans Field in 2023, what struck the reviewer was that a small job got big-job treatment — met on site, a solution presented, and the work done in a timely manner at a fair price. People come back. An August 2026 customer liked the main bathroom remodel enough to line up the master bathroom next, and a June 2026 client had worked with Joe across a number of projects, the most recent a kitchen. Another August 2026 customer raised a door issue after the porch was finished and heard back within a few days. This is a small company — a 2023 customer put the good pricing down to exactly that — so it's the right call for a Cape homeowner who wants one builder for the whole job and expects to reach him directly. Settle the start date and the finish window in writing, and spell out the exterior scope if shingles, trim and windows are all in play.
