Longfellow Design Build

Architects, engineers and builders under one roof is the whole pitch at Longfellow Design Build, and it is what the people who hired them keep describing. The company says Mark Bogosian founded it in Falmouth in 2012; it now works out of offices in Boston's South End, Falmouth and Lincoln, New Hampshire, on custom homes and high-end remodels, and says Boston Home Magazine named it Best of Boston Home for high-end remodeling in 2025 and 2026. In May 2026, a Google reviewer described a full home addition and renovation with Longfellow's Boston team, crediting the in-house architects with creative ideas and praising the steady communication. Reviews from August and September 2025 cover a wide spread of jobs: two rebuilt decks, an apartment renovation, a family's cape house, a condo in New Hampshire finished on time and under budget, a Boston condo renovation delivered on time and within budget, and a 100-year-old Harwich Port cottage where the crew kept the original fir wall paneling and flooring while retrofitting HVAC, electrical and plumbing. Customers name their people: designer Ciara appears in several reviews, and one August 2025 customer credited project manager Bill Penny and designer Ciara with an addition that came out beyond their expectations. The longer history runs back to 2016. A March 2017 Houzz reviewer described Longfellow tearing down and rebuilding their three-bedroom house, with custom woodwork by in-house carpenters and follow-up on small details after completion. In a May 2018 review, a customer said a full first-floor redesign finished before their Easter deadline and cost about $100K less than a design they had first drawn up with an outside architect; they went over budget, but mostly from their own added requests. In September 2025, the cape-house customer called the budget mostly accurate but not exact, and blamed their own added scope. Its BBB page shows an A+ grade and accreditation since 2014. Two 2024 Houzz reviews are sharply negative. In July 2024, a customer said their kitchen renovation was eight months in and still unfinished, with a project manager who ignored or lied to them about target dates, materials not ordered when promised, scheduled work that never happened, and tasks they ended up finishing themselves. In October 2024, another reviewer said they paid a $3,000 design fee, received a rough CAD drawing and a quote of over $300,000 for two bathrooms, a basement and floor refinishing in a 2,000-square-foot home, found it 80–150% above other quotes, were refused detailed plans, and said a refund request fell on deaf ears. Its Massachusetts HIC license is active.
