Soumadel HVAC LLC

Soumadel HVAC LLC, based in Beverly, is a heating and cooling contractor with two very different track records depending on how a customer found them. Direct customers — the majority of the 77 reviews on file from 2021 to 2025 — describe fast, well-explained furnace, boiler, heat pump and AC work, and the company holds an A+ BBB grade alongside a 4.2-star Google average from 94 ratings. The company describes itself as a residential and commercial HVAC contractor working on furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, central air, ductless mini-splits, ventilation and air filtration, and says it's a Mass Save trade partner. Reviewers who called Soumadel directly, especially through 2024 and 2025, describe a consistent pattern of prompt diagnostics and clear explanation before work starts — several mention a technician correctly identifying a problem that a previous company had struggled with over multiple visits, or talking a customer out of an unnecessary full system replacement. Jobs described include furnace and boiler repairs and replacements, central AC installs, ductless mini-split work, and, in a 2023 review, a tankless water heater replacement where the technician also helped with Mass Save rebate paperwork. The record isn't uniform, though. A cluster of eight one-star reviews from 2021 to 2024 all describe being connected to Soumadel through the American Home Shield home warranty program rather than calling the company directly, and report a rushed or incorrect diagnosis, in one case two units reportedly damaged during the repair, and — in a 2023 review — a warning about dangerous gas readings after a technician's visit. These accounts read differently from the direct-customer reviews: several describe a technician moving quickly through an assessment or pushing toward a system replacement rather than a repair. Anyone reaching Soumadel through a home warranty claim, in particular, would do well to ask specific questions about the diagnosis and get a second opinion before authorizing major work. For a homeowner calling Soumadel directly for a furnace, boiler, heat pump or AC job, the more recent record is strong and detailed. The warranty-referral pattern above is worth factoring in and asking about directly, especially if the job comes through a home warranty company rather than a direct call.
