Pool Pros Inc. is an East Bridgewater company that's spent more than twenty years on the jobs every pool owner eventually needs — spring openings, fall closings, liner replacements, and tracking down leaks that won't quit. The company traces back to 2004 under owner NormaJean Begley and president William Saba, and BuildZoom's permit records show 23 pool installs and replacements across a dozen South Shore towns — Hanson, Braintree, Marshfield, and Plymouth among them — between 2017 and 2024, tied to the same license number the state now lists as active. The reviews split cleanly along job lines. Customers who've used the company for years to open and close a pool describe a steady relationship: a 2022 review jokes the yearly service saved a marriage from years of pool-maintenance arguments, and a 2024 review from a seven-year client calls finding the company a turning point after five other pool companies. On leaks, a 2022 review credits Bill with finally fixing a leak that had drained the pool for years after other companies couldn't, a 2025 review describes a mid-season visit that tracked down and fixed a leak in a single trip while only billing for one service call, and another 2025 review describes a same-day callback that diagnosed a pool problem (it turned out to be user error) with maintenance tips thrown in. Liner replacements and pool openings are where the complaints cluster. A 2025 review describes a liner job scheduled without advance notice, with follow-up steps — refilling the water, cutting in the skimmer — never communicated, leaving the homeowner to chase the company down. Another 2025 review says a crew arrived, didn't add water or chemicals, and left the pool a mess despite full payment. A separate 2025 opening review says a $310 visit lasted under 30 minutes with no vacuuming or chemicals included. Cancellations show up too: a 2022 review describes a job canceled repeatedly over three months, and a 2023 review reports two no-shows with no explanation. One 2024 review is worth noting in full — a missed spring opening the company caught, apologized for, and fixed the same day. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active, confirmed against the state registry, and BuildZoom's independent listing shows the same license as active too. The company's BBB file is an A+, though it isn't BBB-accredited, and BBB lists no government actions on file. Worth asking before booking: get the opening or closing scope — vacuuming, chemicals included or not — in writing, and lock in a liner-replacement or opening date well in advance. Past customers say that's exactly where things went sideways.
Jason & Ben opened our inground pool and did a great job! Jason is a pleasure to work with & goes above & beyond and is very knowledgeable!
Had Pool Pros come out mid season last year to fix a leak in our above ground pool. They had to make a few trips & replace our return. In the end, they only charged us for 1 service call & the issue is fixed! We got another whole season out of our pool which we weren’t sure we were going to! Shout out to Norma & McKenzie for helping us out!
Terrible service and scheduling. They did not schedule our liner replacement in advanced and assumed they could just let us know suddenly the morning they wanted to do the replacement. When they did the liner replacement, they neglected to tell us someone would come by later in the evening to deal with the vacuum and hose. They then neglected to tell us that the pool needed more water before the skimmer was cut in, even though they knew that same evening and could have texted us or knocked on our door. We had to call them and inquire about whether they were coming to finish the skimmer work before they informed us we needed to fill the pool more. When I asked about when they planned on informing us, they simply said they weren't sure. In addition, they don't appear to offer a modern payment method and insist on payment over the phone. Pool Pros is extremely difficult to work with, but they get 2 stars because the work at least appears to be good.
This company came to our home, didn’t clean the pool, didn’t put any water into it, no chemicals even though we requested a pool opening, and left it a mess. We paid for a service just for them to do absolutely nothing. Well done, terrible service, no reconciliation, yet paid in full. God awful experience, not to mention the MASSIVE delays. If I could leave a 0 I would.
Im new to the pool ownership game and I was having issues with my pool and gave pool pros a call - they were able to make it out the same day and found the issue no problem (luckily a user issue.) they didn’t stop there, gave me a ton of useful tips for maintenance and usage.
