Window Working is a one-man Boston window-repair shop run by Greg Besher, and the story that repeats across 73 Google and Angi reviews going back to 2018 is almost always the same: someone was quoted a full window replacement, called Greg instead, and got the original window fixed for a fraction of the cost. On Google it holds a 4.9-star average from 90 ratings; Angi shows 4.3 stars from a much smaller 10-rating sample. The repair-over-replace pitch shows up constantly, with specifics. In a 2024 review, a homeowner who'd been quoted 'exorbitant prices for an ENTIRE window replacement' after both panes of a large sash shattered said Greg fixed it for far less, after a text exchange with photos. In a late-2025 review, a customer described a 56-by-44-inch window that two other companies said needed full replacement — Greg repaired it instead, for less than expected. He also takes on historic-window work: a 2023 review from a Back Bay homeowner described him refurbishing original windows in an 1874-era home, and a 2023 review from the owner of an 1899 window said he restored it after she'd assumed it was 'damaged beyond repair.' Emergency turnaround is another recurring theme — reviewers describe him showing up the same day a window shattered in a storm (2023), the evening before an overseas trip when a window jammed shut (2022), and at lunchtime the day a pane broke (2025). Not every account is glowing. In a 2025 review, one customer said Greg failed to fix a problem window, misrepresented the agreed scope of work, and refused to discuss it further — a sharp outlier against the rest of the record. A few older reviews raise reliability concerns: a 2019 Angi review described shoddy work and having to chase him down for appointments, a 2021 review said he stopped responding to texts after an initial call, and a 2022 review called him simply 'not reliable.' None of that pattern shows up in the last several years, which run essentially unbroken 5-star, including all four reviews posted in the past six months. Window Working reads as a specialist worth calling before assuming a window needs replacing — sash repair, glass replacement, and historic-window restoration are what the reviews are actually about, not general glazing or siding work. Given how thin Angi's sample is next to Google's, and the handful of older scheduling complaints, it's worth confirming the appointment window and scope of work in writing before work begins.
Excellent service. In less than 24 hours Greg fixed my window. Happy client for sure.
Greg replaced the glass in 2 foggy double pained windows in my home. He was quick with great communication and a fair price. The windows look great. I'd use Greg again and recommend him to friends.
Greg was great! Super efficient, professional, and skilled! Highly recommended!!
Clean and fast work, new beveled window looks great and level. Great customer service & good communication. Call Greg!
I had a large 56 by 44 inch window that would not stay open. I called Gregg, from Window Working to see if it could be fixed or if I’d needed to replace the expensive window which I had been told I’d need to replace by two other company’s. Not only was Gregg able to fix the broken window. He fixed for way less than I was expecting. He was professional and gentleman. I could not recommend him more to anyone who needs a window fixed.
