The Hyannis company says it installs and services hurricane shutters, storm panels, awnings, security screens and outdoor shade structures across the Northeast. Its website names Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Long Island as its service territory. Recent customers describe work adapted to their properties. An August 2026 Google reviewer had an assortment of dormer window sizes needing protection and said the solution fit their budget and timing; the crews answered questions and cleaned the work area. A June 2026 customer described two retractable awnings installed on a complicated property, with a tight timeline met without delays. In July, a Westport customer said a new patio awning made the space more usable. Another July reviewer praised motorized shade installation for a Boston restaurant on an aggressive schedule. The storm-protection accounts are also specific. In a November 2023 Google review, a homeowner described automated roll shutters and Vuesafe Lexan panels for a three-story waterfront residence facing Long Island Sound. They said the company handled materials, installation and training, coordinated with an electrician, and completed installation within a week. An April 2025 reviewer described hurricane shutters on an ocean-facing condo, praising Steve’s answers to questions and Johnny’s installation on a November day. There is a substantial warranty complaint to know about. In an August 2022 Houzz review, a longtime customer said the aluminum box on a $5,100 Croci rolling shutter had corroded and its paint was peeling only a year and a half after installation. The customer said Croci offered a five-year paint warranty serviced by the installer, but alleged that Shade and Shutter refused to honor it or provide a remedy. A separate October 2022 Google reviewer praised products and service while reporting long lead times during high demand. Google lists 4.7 stars from 22 ratings and Houzz 4.8 from 20. BBB gives the business an A+ grade and says it is not accredited. The company claims 36 years in business; BBB lists a January 1992 start date.
We had an odd assortment of window sizes in a dormer that needed protection. Ended up with a creative solution that fit our budget and timing. Install crews were well trained, answered all our questions and cleaned up the work space. Recommend the company based on our experience without reservation
