Highlights
- Long track record — self-reported operating since 1985
- Strong Google rating — 5.0 average across 21 ratings
Shards Stained & Etched Glass Studio has designed, built, and restored fine art stained and etched glass windows since 1985, by its own account. The Peabody shop also takes on commissions and repair work, sells glass and tools at retail, and teaches classes in the craft. On Google, it carries a 5.0 average across 21 ratings, and among the smaller set of reviews with real detail behind that number, the tone runs consistently positive rather than mixed. That written record is a modest one, though: the reviews logged behind the average run from 2022 through 2024 rather than anything more recent. For a custom stained-glass commission, a broken panel, or a want to learn the craft, a four-decade-old studio with a clean five-star average and no complaints on file is a reasonable one to call.

I've been in twice with my kids to pick out glass for their projects and Kai is wonderful. She always takes the time to look over the plan, make suggestions and offer encouragement. I highly recommend shopping here for supplies.

Stopped in for the first time for supplies recently. Kai was incredibly patient answering all my questions and gave me all sorts of tips going forward. I am fairly new and still have plenty of questions. Also I found her glass prices reasonable. Will return.

I have a lamp with a stained glass shade. A picture fell on it and broke three panels. I found out about shards from a craft fair. The shade was fixed and you can't tell that anything is new. The job was excellent.
