Accu-Tek is a family-owned appliance, refrigeration, and HVAC repair business based in Pelham, NH, run by owner Allen Somogie and BBB Accredited (A+) since 2012; the company reports operating since 2002 and the owner describes 26 years of hands-on experience in the trade. Reviewers who hired Accu-Tek directly, or through an insurance claim, consistently describe Allen as thorough, communicative, and reliable. A 2023 review describes him returning a second time at no extra hassle to finish a double-wall oven repair after an insurance-sourced replacement part was delayed, and several older reviews from 2017 to 2022 call him honest, on time, and fairly priced. A separate, recurring pattern shows up in reviews about jobs dispatched through a manufacturer's warranty program or a retailer like Lowe's: several accounts from 2022 to 2025 describe Accu-Tek declining or not showing up for appointments set up by GE or Lowe's, in a few cases without notifying the customer, leading to long waits and difficult rescheduling. Not every warranty-referral review turns out this way — one 2022 review from a GE-dispatched dryer repair specifically praises Allen's work — but the pattern recurs often enough across sources to be worth asking about directly. Accu-Tek looks like a solid choice for homeowners who call directly or go through their own insurance for an appliance, refrigeration, or AC repair. If a repair is being arranged through GE, Lowe's, or another retailer's warranty desk, it's worth confirming directly with Accu-Tek that they've accepted the job before taking time off work to wait for them.
GE hired them to come out and fix our year and a half old, lightly used, Profile washing machine. On the day of the repair, we contacted them towards the end of the day to see when they might be out. The person stated they would be refusing to complete the repair. That’s totally fine to refuse work. However, the gentleman was extremely rude on the phone. He hardcore belly laughed at us, stating that sometimes this is how life is, and we needed to chalk it up to needing to replace the machine, after stating he didn’t have much information from GE about what the job was. No respect. No common courtesy. No social skills. Avoid them at all costs.
Refused to service our new appliance after an appointment was made through customer service, stating they have the right to not do work if they don’t want to. Which is true, but a pretty poor business model.
I set up an appointment through GE for an A/C service. I was home 8-4:30 the day of my appointment before calling, at which point they tell me they didn't accept the job from GE. I called GE and the rep told me that they've accepted the job. No notification from either GE or Accu-Tek, not professional at all
great communication throughout the repair and claims process with Lowes. I highly recommend this company.
Allen came out to our home to service our double wall oven after this stopped working following a self cleaning session. Allen had to come out a second time as the insurance company had to send another part for him to complete the job. On the second visit, Allen worked tirelessly to remedy the problem and now we have a working oven ready for the holidays! Thank you, Allen!
