PuroClean of Somerville, working out of 99 Albion St, is the call for the middle-of-the-night disasters — a water heater that lets go at 9:30pm, a sewer line backing up into a finished basement, ice-dam runoff soaking through a ceiling. It's a franchise of the national PuroClean network, and on the ground here the name reviewers actually use is David Fimiani's, who shows up in person on nearly every job they describe. The last few months of reviews tell a consistent story. One homeowner's water heater flooded a basement at night; Dave and a colleague, Chris, had the situation under control before it spread further. A sewer backup into a finished basement got explained step by step, then demolished, sanitized, and billed directly to the homeowner's insurer. Another basement was fully remediated and gutted in two to three days using air scrubbers and HEPA filters, at what the customer called a reasonable price. A mother's ice-dam water damage was cleaned up honestly and on time, her daughter wrote. None of the five most recent reviews mention a complaint, and the same shape of work — sewage, mold, flood, and a hoarding cleanup worked into the mix — runs back through the rest of its 21 Google ratings, all five stars, dating to 2024. A handful of restoration-directory sites repeat the same 5-star read, though they disagree with each other and with Google on how many reviews exist — 11 on one site, 16 on another, 21 on Google — which looks like stale scraping rather than any real dispute about the work. More notable: this location's BBB file was only opened this year and hasn't been accredited or rated, so there's no independent complaint record to check outside of Google, even though the reviews themselves go back further. For a basement that's actively flooding, a sewage backup, or a mold problem tangled up with an insurance claim, this is a crew reviewers call back by name. Get the cleanup scope and price in writing before work starts — the reviews call the pricing fair or reasonable but don't spell out numbers.

We had the town sewer line failed and back into our house, in the finished basement. We were beside ourselves and did not even know what to do. We called Puroclean and they were able to come out very quickly. Dave explained the he process to us and was very sympathetic to this whole nightmare that was now my and my husband’s life. Dave and his team did a great job of cleaning up, demolishing and sanitation of the biohazard water we had. They billed the insurance directly for us and made a pretty crappy situation much easier to cope with. They took a lot of the stress away from us by providing insight and dealing with the insurance directly.

Great company, David was so easy to talk to, super reliable and had great customer service. I was able to get my basement fully remediated and gutted for a reasonable price. His team was in and out in 2-3 days. They used air scrubbers and HEPA filters. I would definitely use this company again.
